Create a more energy-efficient home

Customers with an eligible ING Home Loan may be eligible to increase their borrowing through a Green Upgrade Loan which gets added to their existing Home Loan, to upgrade their home with approved energy-efficient home upgrades like:

solar photovoltaic panels and inverter

battery

hot water heat pump*

induction cooktop*

air conditioner (non-ducted single-split)*.

double glazed windows

ceiling fan

The ING Green Upgrade Loan is supported by the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC), an Australian Government-owned green bank set up to help finance Australia’s clean energy transition to net zero emissions by 2050. The CEFC’s $1 billion Household Energy Upgrades Fund provides discounted finance to consumers through a range of co-financiers to help increase housing-sector sustainability.

Things to know before you apply

Eligibility

You may be eligible to apply to increase your existing ING Home Loan (Mortgage Simplifier, Orange Advantage or Fixed Rate Loan) and link it to a Green Upgrade Loan provided:

Your existing ING Home Loan meets the conditions below:

it has a total balance of $150,000 or more at the time of application

the total loan-to-value ratio (LVR) of the existing ING Home Loan and the new Green Upgrade Loan is 80% or less once the Green Upgrade Loan is settled.

It is for the purpose of funding the purchase and installation of one or more eligible energy-efficient home upgrades on the security property for the existing ING Home Loan, by either:

An installer on the Home Energy Helper; or

Using an eligible BYO installer

The security property has a value of $2,500,000 or less at the time of application.

You hold an active Orange Everyday account in the same name as your ING Home Loan at the start of the Green Upgrade Loan application

How to apply

How to apply

1. Get a quote

Visit Home Energy Helper and input your home energy details to work out what upgrades you could make and what you could save.

You can then request a quote from an accredited installer in your area through Home Energy Helper, or you can get your own quote from an eligible BYO installer.

2. Apply by phone

When you have a quote from an installer on the Home Energy Helper platform, or an eligible BYO installer simply call us on 1800 467 415 to assess your eligibility and kick off your Green Upgrade Loan application.

Once you provide us with your final quote and we've conducted a preliminary credit assessment, we can proceed to conditional approval.

3. Complete your home upgrades

Once your home energy upgrades are installed, share the final invoice with us. We'll finalise the loan approval and deposit the loan funds into your Orange Everyday upon settlement, you can then pay the invoice with the installer directly.
