ING Australia appoints senior projects specialist

ING Australia has announced the appointment of a senior executive to manage the execution of key IT and e-business projects across the company.

David Connaughton has been appointed Head of Strategy and Project Management Office which is a new role reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, Fred Bertram. David has more than 20 years’ experience in project and change management gained in a range of industries, including IT and management consulting. He has performed in senior management and project roles working with large organisations such as Lend Lease, PwC and most recently with IBM’s Managed Business Process Delivery group.

“Dave brings a proven ability to develop business strategy and vision and to implement that strategy by developing and executing project plans that transform sales, marketing, service delivery and back office support functions,” said Fred Bertram.

“His strong execution and project management skills will be a great asset for ING Australia as we continue our two-year transformation programme to streamline processes and enhance our IT and E-business capabilities so as to ensure the delivery of outstanding customer service in the years ahead.”

Mr Connaughton will take up his new role on August 4.
