Leading wealth manager, superannuation and insurance company, ING Australia, has appointed Ian Riley as Chief Financial Officer after an extensive global search.

ING’s Chief Executive Officer Paul Bedbrook said:

“Ian has made an outstanding contribution to the ING Australia business over the past two years in improving operational efficiency and the effective management of capital.

“Ian has the credentials and broad business experience to help us build on these strong foundations as we pursue an aggressive growth strategy.

“Ian's experience and qualifications make him well suited for the role, and it’s great that we have been able to fill this important role from within the organisation.

“We undertook an external selection process and assessed many quality candidates. Ian’s industry experience in Australia and Asia made him the preferred choice.”

Ian has been with ING for over two years as Group Financial Controller and oversaw the acquisitions of the Synergy dealer group in 2005 and majority investment in Oasis Asset Management this year.

Mr Riley has over twenty years experience in wealth management and insurance, including over a decade in senior roles in Asia with Canadian group Manulife, including Regional Financial Controller. Prior to this, he was a senior manager with Deloittes Australia in audit and M&A roles.

He has a Bachelor of Economics from Sydney University and other professional accreditations including ACA Australian Institute, FLMI Life Management Institute and COE American Society for Quality.
